Print Support Engineer
As a Print Support Engineer, you will implement, configure, and support print software solutions across diverse business environments. You’ll apply your expertise in imaging hardware, networking, servers, and software deployment to deliver robust printing solutions. Your role combines project ownership with ongoing technical support, directly impacting client success and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Project Implementation Lead discovery meetings, define requirements, and develop SOWs for print software projects (Uni Flow, Paper Cut, West Fax, etc.).
- Technical Deployment:
Install and configure print solutions on customer networks and servers. - Application Development & Troubleshooting:
Develop scripts, customize configurations, debug software, and integrate print systems. - Ongoing Support:
Manage helpdesk tickets, troubleshoot issues, and maintain uptime within SLA/KPI targets. - Training & Customer Enablement:
Train end users and administrators on software use and best practices. - Pre-Sales Assistance:
Collaborate with Sales teams, deliver demonstrations, proof of concepts, and technical guidance. - Documentation & Continuous Learning:
Maintain technical documentation, stay certified on print platforms, and explore new technologies. - Ad-hoc Development Tasks:
Participate in coding tasks related to web, desktop, or mobile solutions as needed.
- 3+ years in application engineering or technical implementation
- Hands‑on experience with MFP hardware (Canon, Xerox, Toshiba)
- Experience with print software platforms (Papercut, Uni Flow, Printer Logic)
- Proficient with networking/server setup (TCP/IP, print services, IIS, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer experience
- Willingness to travel within the Chicagoland area
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Collaborative approach and strong team orientation
- Experience managing vendor and client relationships
- Familiarity with database architecture (e.g., data mapping, queries)
- Proven track record delivering complex application deployments
- Comfortable presentation to both technical and executive audiences
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
- Frequent computer, equipment, and telephone use
- Occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, or crouching
- Prolonged sitting during configuration or troubleshooting

After a 30‑day waiting period, full‑time employees (who work at least 30 hours per week) and their dependents are eligible to enroll in health benefits utilizing the Cigna network. After a 30‑day waiting period, Proven IT provides a flat $25,000 Life Insurance benefit, administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield, to all full‑time employees. Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit payments are determined based on the type of loss incurred and are payable up to the full Life Insurance benefit amount. Life and AD&D Insurance coverage amounts are reduced at ages 65, 70 and 75.

Long‑Term Disability (LTD) insurance is an employer‑provided benefit and provides protection from loss of income in the event that an employee is unable to work due to illness, injury, or accident for a long period of time. The elimination period is 90 days, and the maximum benefit is 60% of covered payroll up to $6,000 per month. This benefit is paid entirely by Proven IT and has no cost to the employee.
