Overview
The Associate Director of HR is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations while supporting the organization’s people strategy. This role manages core HR functions including employee relations, performance management, payroll support, compliance, and policy administration. The HR Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, ensuring a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
- Addresses employee concerns, conducts investigations, and recommends corrective actions.
- Interpret and applies HR policies consistently.
- Manage performance review cycles and goal-setting processes.
- Ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for new hires.
- Support compensation planning, merit increases and job evaluations with managers and talent acquisition.
- Liaison with vendors and employees for benefit programs.
- Lead Open Enrollment with vendors and Benefit Manager.
- Work with VP of HR to update HR policies, procedures and employee handbook as needed.
- Complete audits and reporting requirements.
- Provide HR metrics and insights to VP of HR.
- Support organizational initiatives related to culture, engagement and efficiencies.
- Audit, coach and complete documentation to be compliant in employee files.
- Send memorandums to employees and send all staff emails for notification of changes in company and compensation.
Perform additional HR duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field (Master’s/MBA a plus).
- 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience, including =3 years in payroll.
- Experience as HR Generalist, HR Payroll, or HR Manager preferred.
- Industry exposure in fast-paced, high-growth environments (e.g., tech, healthcare).
- Preferred certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP.
- Project management skills to handle multiple concurrent searches and programs.
- HR regulatory knowledge, including EEO/AA and labor compliance.
- Proficient with ATS (e.g., Paylocity), HRIS, Linked In Recruiter, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Organized, detail-oriented, discreet, self-motivated, and collaborative.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Extended periods at a desk using computer and office equipment.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing and documentation.
- Ability to sit for prolonged durations during recruitment and onboarding sessions.
- Capable of lifting up to 15 lbs (e.g., orientation kits, materials).
GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE:
After a 30-day waiting period, full-time employees (who work at least 30 hours per week) and their dependents are eligible to enroll in health benefits utilizing the Cigna network. Health options include a choice of 2 PPO plans or a High Deductible Health Plan with employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Dental benefits are available as well as a Vision PPO plan utilizing the Eye Med network.
Proven also offers voluntary worksite benefits including critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident coverage, short-term disability insurance, supplemental life and pet insurance. Additional offerings include an employee discount program, home and auto insurance services and commuter/transit FSA.
EMPLOYER PROVIDED LIFE/AD&D INSURANCE:
After a 30-day waiting period, Proven IT provides a flat $25,000 Life Insurance benefit, administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield, to all full-time employees (who work at least 30 hours per week). Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit payments are determined based on the type of loss incurred and are payable up to the full Life Insurance benefit amount. Life and AD&D Insurance coverage amounts are reduced at ages 65, 70 and 75.
EMPLOYER PROVIDED LTD:
Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance is an employer-provided benefit and provides protection from loss of income in the event that an employee is unable to work due to illness, injury, or accident for a long period of time. The elimination period is 90 days, and the maximum benefit is 60% of covered payroll up to $6000/month. This benefit is paid entirely by Proven IT and has no cost to the employee.
