The Village of Tinley Park (population approximately 56,000) seeks dedicated and responsible applicants to support the Emergency Management Agency, which provides both emergency and non‑emergency support to other Village public safety agencies and offers mutual aid to other communities.
Seasonal (May‑August) Part‑Time EMA Member (Concert Traffic Control)- Provide traffic control for major concert events at the Credit Union Amphitheatre.
- Assist with special events (parades, festivals, street fairs and other community events) and perform first aid, shelter operations, emergency planning, donation management and additional duties as required during a disaster or major incident.
- Work 6 concerts per month (approximately 50 hours/month) or 18 concerts per season (May‑August, approximately 150 hours/season).
- Participate in 1–2 scheduled day(s) per month for regular evening meetings and training.
- Be available for various shifts including day, afternoon and evening.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Prior emergency management related experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the general public.
Hours of work vary based on scheduled events and emergency situations. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.
