Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $98,000.00/yr

Constellation Search Group is seeking a Cost Accountant for a full-time direct hire position. The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in accurately and consistently completing accounting functions for assigned projects. This position will be based on-site in Orland Park, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies to reduce costs and evaluate product pricing to ensure optimal return on investment.
• Prepare budgeting reports by collecting and analyzing data from various departments.
• Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with accounting regulations, specifically those applicable in India.
• Examine production costs to identify the most efficient production methods.
• Ensure accurate classification of expenses according to GAAP.
• Research material costs to maintain accuracy in the company's accounting system.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs.
• Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure inventory record accuracy.
• Monitor direct labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related expenses.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in finance or commerce with a specialization in accountancy.
• 3+ years of experience in accountancy or a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as IFS, SAP, or JD Edwards and thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Strong analytical skills for decision-making based on data analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for discussing financial reports with stakeholders.
