SMS Equipment is currently recruiting Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians for our growing Timmins branch. In this role, you’ll apply your technical expertise to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain off‑road heavy equipment, supporting reliable operations for our customers. Base Wage
: $54.48 per hour + premiums
* Location: Timmins ON
Schedule: Various schedules are currently available:

5x2 (local): Work Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with evenings and weekends free.

7x7 (local):
Work 7 days on for 12 hours per day, then enjoy 7 days off. Includes eligibility for a compressed work week premium.*

14x14 (remote):
Work 14 days on for 12 hours per, then enjoy 14 days off. Includes eligibility for a compressed work week premium*, along with travel and accommodations.

* Premiums include market and compressed work week on 7x7 and 14x14 schedules bringing rate to approximately $60.16 per hour
. Additional assignment-based premiums and allowances may apply.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on construction equipment

Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds

Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools

Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces

Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices

Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role

What You Bring

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification

Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude

Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset

Interprovincial Red Seal certification is an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel

Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions

This position is classified as an Individual Contributor
