SMS Equipment is looking for Heavy Equipment Technicians for our Timmins branch. If you're a journeyperson technician who takes pride in your work, solves problems with confidence, and thrives in a fast-paced environment—we want to hear from you.

Base Wage: $54.48 per hour + premiums
* Location: Timmins, ON
Schedule: 7x7 local or 14x14 remote

* Premiums include market and compressed work week on 7x7 and 14x14 schedules bringing rate to approximately $60.16 per hour
. Additional assignment-based premiums and allowances may apply.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on construction equipment

Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds

Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools

Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces

Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices

Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role

What You Bring

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification

Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude

Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset

Interprovincial Red Seal certification is an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel

Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions

This position is classified as an Individual Contributor
