Work Schedule: 5 days on and 2 days off, 8-hour days. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Northern Sun Mining is a reputable, privately-owned mining company located approximately 35 km southeast of Timmins, Ontario. Our mill facility focuses on processing and refining ore from Gowest Gold's Bradshaw Project, delivering high-quality metal concentrates while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mill Maintenance Administrator to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance General Foreman, the Mill Maintenance Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, accurate, and proactive administrative support to the maintenance function in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role ensures maintenance execution, compliance with safety and site requirements, and effective coordination between maintenance, operations, and other requirements.

Through strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, the role contributes to equipment reliability, operational continuity, and overall site performance.

Please note this is not a camp-based position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer and maintain the maintenance management system.
  • Create, review, update, and close maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of maintenance records, equipment history, and asset data.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs by maintaining schedules and documentation.
  • Track maintenance backlog, work completion, and equipment downtime.
  • Prepare and distribute maintenance reports.
  • Support plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities through coordination and documentation.
  • Create and track purchase requisitions for parts, materials, tools, and maintenance services.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and vendors to ensure timely availability of spare parts.
  • Assist with tracking maintenance costs, labor hours, and contractor expenses.
  • Maintain maintenance files, manuals, drawings, permits, and inspection records.
  • Coordinate contractor documentation, onboarding, and service tracking.
  • Support maintenance audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate maintenance priorities and status between maintenance, operations, and other departments.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes for maintenance meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of maintenance, personnel, and cost information.
  • Provide administrative support to the maintenance leadership team.

  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of administrative experience in an industrial, mining, milling, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with maintenance management systems.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance processes, work orders, and preventive maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to organize and maintain large volumes of records and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and purchase requisition processes.
  • Ability to track maintenance costs, labour hours, and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
