The Registered Dietitian (RD) (CDE) position at Blanche River Health (BRH) Kirkland Lake Site is responsible for covering both the Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program (0.8
FTE) and the BRH inpatient clinical nutrition case load (0.2
FTE). The RD provides community‑based nutritional and health assessments, nutritional care services, diabetes self‑management education, insulin management and behaviour‑change support for people living with type 1 and 2 diabetes in the District of Temiskaming. The RD participates in the development, delivery and evaluation of programs and services of the Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program. The RD is responsible for inpatient clinical nutrition assessment, and nutrition care plan implementation.
Referrals may include, but are not limited to, enteral and parenteral nutrition, swallowing assessments, malnutrition, etc.
- University Degree in Nutrition and approved Dietetic Internship.
- Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario in good standing.
- Certified Diabetes Educator or willingness to attain it within 2 years of hire.
- Dynamic, self‑motivated, encouraging and energetic individual.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Proficient in Meditech and/or health care software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset.
