Join Tualatin River keepers to connect with nature and learn more about the importance of native plants!

About the Program

Tualatin River keepers is a community-based organization that protects and restores the Tualatin River watershed. We build watershed stewardship through advocacy, restoration work, river access, and education.
Our three key areas of focus – advocacy, stewardship, and river experiences – engage hundreds of volunteers and thousands of participants each year, who gain an appreciation of the watershed and its protection by experiencing it first‑hand.

About the Project

Join Tualatin River keepers to remove ivy and holly from Dirksen Nature Park in Tigard! This work supports wildlife habitat, water quality, soil health, and human connection throughout the park.
On this day, we'll be removing ivy and holly, cultivating more space for native plants and healthy habitat.
Help us identify and remove English Holly and Ivy from Dirksen Nature Park. This is an opportunity to share a few hours with community improving habitat. We will give instruction on effective removal and provide safety equipment and tools. Tualatin River keepers Crew Leaders and Staff will be present to assist with any tasks and answer any questions.
Snacks, coffee, tools, safety gear and instruction provided. This park is accessible via the 76 Trimet bus line.

  • Age: Volunteers must be 6 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity; any volunteer under age 18 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
