The Role , At a GlanceA Material Handler I works as part of a team to provide material support within a dynamic manufacturing environment. A Material Handler I flexes easily between tasks, and seeks to be proficient at all tasks within their assigned functional area. Compensation for this role is $17.50 per hour.
How You'll Contribute- Delivers material to point of consumption in response to Kanban signals
- Stores and retrieves parts in warehouse using first-in first-out process
- Accurately performs inventory transactions and adjustments
- Actively participates in daily Tier 1 Daily Management System (DMS) meetings
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects
- Keeping work area well organized and clean
- Assisting with performing cycle counts
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
- 0-1 years of related work experience
- Must be able to work Monday - Thursday shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM
- Must be forklift certified or capable of becoming forklift certified at BIAMP Systems
- Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with computers and Windows based applications is preferred
- Ability to adjust work pace in response to daily production data
- Possesses excellent verbal and written skills in English
- Must be able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and diffuse challenging situations using acceptable and appropriate methods
- Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- May be required to alternate schedules to meet production goals
- Attendance is a critical function of this position
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. periodically
- Stand or sit for long periods
- Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending
- Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels
- Use tools that require fine hand skills
- Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts
- Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areas
