Centrex Construction is hiring a Sales Manager to build qualified pipeline and lead large construction deals from initial qualification through contract execution. This role owns complex, long-cycle opportunities and works closely with operations, finance, and leadership to close well-aligned, high-value projects.
This position is onsite in Tigard, OR and is best suited for someone who wants to grow with the company, contribute meaningfully to long-term customer relationships, and help build a repeatable, high-quality project pipeline.
What You Will Be Accountable ForCore Outcomes
- Build and grow a qualified sales pipeline aligned to Centrex’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
- Lead sales opportunities from initial qualification through contract execution
- Convert pipeline into closed deals within expected timelines
- Enforce ICP discipline and pricing/risk standards
- Maintain accurate, timely CRM data
- Personally close or materially lead high-value construction deals
- Coordinate internally with operations and finance to move deals forward
- Provide feedback and direction to outsourced Rev Ops provider
- Participate in strategic planning related to market focus and pipeline development
- Typical project size: $15M–$25M+
Primary focus:
- Aviation construction (approximately 70%)
Secondary focus:
- Pre-engineered buildings
- Large commercial projects (e.g., big-box retail, repeat-build programs)
Priority is customers with strong repeat-business potential over multi-year time horizons
Experience Requirements- 7 - 12+ years of B2B sales experience
- Experience selling large, complex contracts ($15M+), preferably in commercial construction or capital projects
- Proven ability to manage long, non-linear sales cycles (12 - 18 months)
- Strong qualification discipline and sound judgment; ability to walk away from misaligned deals
- Experience building relationships that lead to repeat, multi-project business
- Comfortable working in-office with daily collaboration
- Growth mindset; interest in building and scaling, not maintaining
Construction experience is preferred but not mandatory if long-cycle, high-dollar sales experience is clear.
