JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate is $28.00 per hour

Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities.

* Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer's location and/ or return products

* Deliver material in "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations

* Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas

* Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law

* Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle

* Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact

* Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly

* Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment

* Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed

* Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines

* 2-3 overnight runs per week

* May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License

* High School diploma or GED required

* Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record

* 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)

* Valid Medical Card

* Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical

* Must be able to work independently

* Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable

* Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work

* Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time

* Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
