** A Brief Summary of This Position:
** The Intern with the Water Solutions business unit has exposure to the day-to-day workings of irrigation technologies and will have opportunities to experience product management, development, and marketing activities within the Valley Irrigation product line. The intern will learn to plan, organize, and complete project assignments in a cross-functional team environment as a member of the Product Management team.  The intern will be exposed to water delivery and technology products for agriculture equipment and how mechanized irrigation equipment is used in a variety of field applications.  

This intern will also gain an understanding of what growers expect from Irrigation equipment in order to apply the right products to specific crops and fields.  The intern works with different people on the team, getting exposure to different angles of team development. Responsibilities include choosing an intern project to develop and complete during the months of the internship. During the internship, the incumbent acquires an increased knowledge of existing assemblies while learning more regarding Valmont’s manufacturing capabilities and the field usage of Valmont products.

* Essential Functions:

*** Proficient in Microsoft office products
* Initiative to work on training / planning for training at the Tifton DC
* Operational duties working with Technical Territory Manager and Water Delivery projects
* Assist Irrigation Specialist with Irrigation Scheduling product
* Collaborate with different divisions in Irrigation for product integration
* Assist in projects globally to facilitate processes and procedures
* Support the evaluation of irrigated crop technologies and crop production technologies
* Responsible for completing and presenting a selected internship project from those available
* Responsible for outlining measurable performance objectives that will contribute toward the student’s career goals (training plan)
* Explore ideas outside the current framework to improve processes.  The intern should be continually searching for better ways to improve the quality of the work produce
** Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
*** Enrolled in College within an Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Soil Science, Mechanized Systems, Soil Mechanics, Soil Conservation or related agriculture field degree with one year of course work completed
* The ability to possibly travel domestically up to 15% of the time
* The ability to work outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions
* A valid US driver’s license
* A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Work part time throughout the year
