What You Will Do- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder.
- Perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.
- Perform snow & ice operations.

Qualifications- Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction; reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
- Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 months training or experience in operation of basic equipment; valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
- Position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
- All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one‑year probationary period.
- Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
- Selected applicants required to undergo criminal background check.
- Selected applicants required to submit to urinalysis test for illegal drug use; a positive test will disqualify.
- Position subject to federal testing regulations and restrictions on marijuana usage.
- Selected applicants required to register as a driver in FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
