Summer Camp Registered Nurse

Overview

This is an on-site summer position for a Registered Nurse at Camps Airy & Louise, located in Thurmont and Cascade, Maryland. The dates for the summer are June 21-August 9 with a minimum one week commitment. The Registered Nurse will oversee camper and staff health, administer medications, respond to medical needs, maintain medical records, and implement health policies.

• Provide routine and urgent medical care for campers and staff
• Administer medications and manage related documentation
• Respond to medical needs and emergencies in a timely manner
• Maintain medical records and ensure privacy and accuracy
• Implement and enforce health policies and procedures
• Manage health supplies and equipment
• Collaborate with camp staff to support overall health and safety
• Ensure compliance with healthcare protocols

Room and board provided. Staff housing includes an air-conditioned private cabin with a full bathroom.

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with an active and valid Maryland state license
• Experience as a School Nurse is a plus
• Strong clinical skills, including medication administration and patient care management
• Knowledge of pediatric and adolescent healthcare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with campers, parents, and staff
• Organizational skills for maintaining medical records and managing supplies
• Experience in a camp, school, or similar environment is a plus
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, community-oriented setting
