Actively participate in the development and improvement of innovative products and technologies that are industry relevant.

Collaborate with the research team to generate ideas, contribute to design discussions, and assist in the prototyping and testing phases.

Work with the project team to collaboratively, problem-solve issues.

Assist in written communications and verbal presentations regarding updates on project status and end of project outcomes.

Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks to maintain project timeline.

Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, follow safe work practices and procedures including the proper usage of all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) of Confederation College and the industry partner.

Location/Campus Thunder Bay Campus Education Minimum level of formal education required for the position 1 year certificate or equivalent education Specific course(s), certification, qualification, formal training or accreditation required for the position Additional Requirements

Good attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, as well as independently.

Field(s) of Study

Must be a full-time post-secondary student at Confederation College in the  academic year (minimum – attending entire winter 2026 semester). Full-time is defined as having a minimum 60% course load, or 40% if you have a permanent disability.

Must be returning to Confederation College as a full-time post-secondary student in September 2026

Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident protected person, or an international student who is legally eligible to work in Canada.

Experience Typical number of years of experience, in addition to the necessary education level, required to perform the responsibilities of the position Less than one (1) year Type of Experience

Must have experience using advanced manufacturing equipment.

Experience using computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), computer-aided engineering (CAE) and 3D modelling, an asset.
