Position Information Position Title Apiwin Student Intern Posting Type Temporary End Date (if applicable) 08/28/2026 Classification Title App G Student Pay Band 1 Min Salary 20.00 Max Salary 20.00 Position Summary This student would assist in the Indigenous Student Center with various initiatives being planned for the summer and new academic year. The student would support across various areas of the center including but not limited to, community engagement, recruitment, tours, peer mentoring, Indigenous orientation/first year experience initiatives, as well as supporting any new initiatives, events and partnerships.
Duties and responsibilities would include:

Supporting day-to-day student supports in space.

Supporting Elders and knowledge keeps in Apiwin.

Supporting internal requests from staff and faculty and providing referrals

Database maintenance for initiatives as it supports Indigenous student supports.

Assisting students with applications and supporting internal referrals.

Participating in team planning meetings

Volunteering for college initiatives, orientation, tours, open house.

Coordinating logistics for events, community engagement, recruitment initiatives for Indigenous learners

Promotion and marketing and social media for Apiwin

Preparing and maintaining resources for day-to-day responsibilities in Apiwin

Working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Must be a dependable individual who is confident and has great oral and written communication skills along with a positive attitude.

Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, social media, and e-mail;

Detail oriented; and

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Field(s) of Study

Must be a full-time post-secondary student at Confederation College in the  academic year (minimum – attending entire winter 2026 semester). Full-time is defined as having a minimum 60% course load, or 40% if you have a permanent disability.

Must be returning to Confederation College as a full-time post-secondary student in September 2026

Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident protected person, or an international student who is legally eligible to work in Canada.

If domestic, must be approved for OSAP, or complete the needs score spreadsheet to demonstrate a financial need

Can be a student in any College program in the 2025-26 academic year;
