Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Tech III is a non-licensed skilled and experienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the C/S and /or operating room suite. Assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties. Assists in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Assists in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients.

Performs all related duties as assigned and directed. Facilitates the provision of individualized patient care. Reports to Registered Nurse on each case and the Clinical Manager and the Director of Surgical Services. This is a non-exempt position.   • You will assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during the course of surgery
  • You will assist in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients
  • You will maintain correct counts per policy
  • You will need to understand concepts of appropriate decontamination handling of instruments and supplies

Qualifications

  • High School graduate required or equivalent, college prepared preferred
  • Completion of OR Tech course from an accredited school
  • Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
