Overview
Wonderful opportunity to join the clinical staff of DLV Vision Surgery Center. We are a family oriented, growing, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC). The facility is conveniently located in Thousand Oaks, CA, with easy access to Highway 101. The Center has two operating rooms. Patient care is provided in an environment that is safe, comfortable and caring, which makes us the partner of choice for surgical care Southern California.

Title: Perioperative Registered Nurse
Report to: Director of Nursing
FLSA: Non-exempt, Part-Time
PositionWe are seeking an experienced peri-operative nurse for a per diem position. Prior Ophthalmology and/or ASC experience preferred.
Responsibilities- Accountable for the provision of nursing care in the assigned peri-operative areas of the surgery center. Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility administrative procedures. Participates in various quality activities as appropriate and as directed by the Nursing Supervisor, Facility Administrator or Medical Director.
- The Registered Nurse must set priorities in planning cases and making clinical decisions, provide care for patients undergoing surgery, as well as assist with pre-op and post-operative nursing care of the surgical patient. They are a resource for complex decision making and establishing individualized plan of care for the peri-operative patient.
- Exhibits competency in performing all functions of assigned area or duties, including pre-op, intra-op and PACU.
- Sets up room for surgical procedures and identifies instrumentation and supply needs.
- Completes procedural counts accurately.
- Documents activities according to facility policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates and practices aseptic technique.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Fosters a cooperative effort and works as a team player.
- Seeks guidance, direction and assistance when needed.
- Recognizes and utilizes appropriate lines of communication.
- Adheres to infection control standards.
- Adheres to universal protocol and patient safety standards in accordance with Standards of Patient Care, The Joint Commission, Patient’s Bill of Rights, Oak Park Surgery policies and procedures, professional standards.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Documentation and confirmation of one year of operating room / ASC experience preferred.
- Critical thinking skill.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
