SummaryThe Center for Technology & Innovation (CfTI) department at Company is looking for a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in clinical bioinformatics, biomarker development, assay development, ML algorithms & data science, statistical modeling, handling clinical data sets and a background in biology and computational sciences. This is a high‑visibility, individual contributor role preferring experience within matrix environments representing the function and requiring the development of methods to support the entirety of the clinical portfolio at Company.
Responsibilities- Perform analyses of prostate cancer exploratory biomarker datasets to understand association between baseline and on‑treatment biomarker changes with safety and efficacy endpoints
- Document, refactor, and write clean R/tidyverse code to accomplish scientific objectives set by Precision Medicine and global development leadership
- Engage in scientific discussion and iteration with hiring manager and technical review SMEs to revise and improve code and analyses.
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science
- PHD recent grad or M.S. and 5 YOE. Key words:
Clinical bioinformatics, patient selection, immunohistochemistry, time‑series, survival analysis, R programming, and nice to have prostate cancer or solid tumor experience. - Significant experience in bioinformatics, applied mathematics and/or statistics, including linear mixed effects models, to analyze multi‑modal, multi‑dimensional and large‑scale biological data
- A working knowledge and experience of Machine Learning and AI technologies. Experience applying ML/AI in clinical trial settings is a plus.
- A working knowledge of platforms and readouts utilized for the assessment of clinical biomarkers including flow cytometry, IHC, NGS, immunoassays, imaging, and transcriptional profiling assays
- Ability to translate biological and medical questions into analytical models providing actionable results
- Deep knowledge of prostate indications
- Programming experience in R & Python and familiarity with tidyverse principles
- Familiarity with assay development and qualification requirements for clinical trial support
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the group, as well as with research community
- Three or more years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills, self‑motivation, independence, and leadership
- Programming proficiency in R with tidyverse principles
- Deep expertise in hypothesis testing and computational analysis of common bioinformatics datasets (DNA/RNA‑seq, proteomics, flow cytometry, IHC)
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $38.00 - $41.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education experience and the benefits package you select. Full‑time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
