As the Lead Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be more than an expert in the lab—you’ll be the guide who sets the standard for excellence. In this role, you’ll balance lifesaving, hands‑on patient care with the responsibility of mentoring, coaching, and empowering your team. Under direction of the Cardiovascular Service Line Director, Manager of CV Service Line, or designee, the lead technologist coordinates coverage for optimal patient flow for Emergency, in‑patients, out‑patients, urgent NSTEMI and emergent STEMI patients. The lead tech performs a variety of complex diagnostic and interventional procedures, structural heart procedures, and electrophysiology procedures in the Cardiovascular Service Line.
Responsibilities- Leading by example during complex cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring precision, safety, and compassionate care.
- Coaching, mentoring, and precepting team members to build confidence, skill, and alignment with best practices.
- Overseeing workflow, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining a safe, sterile, and fully prepared environment.
- Advocating for patients and families throughout the care journey, providing guidance, education, and reassurance.
- Driving team success by supporting hiring, onboarding, and communication of new practices and standards.
- Licensure/Certification: Current ARRT (R) required; ARRT IR Preferred; RCES or RCIS Preferred;
Current CRT required;
Current BLS certification required;
Current ACLS certification required;
Current Fluoroscopy Permit required. - Education: Certification from AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology;
Graduate from AMA approved Cardiovascular Technology Program (CVT). - Experience: Three years as a Special Procedures Technologist or CVT required;
Minimum of 5 years of Cardiac Cath lab experience;
One‑year experience in a leadership role preferred.
