Skyworks is an innovator of high‑performance analog semiconductors whose solutions power the wireless networking revolution. With a broad technology expertise and extensive product portfolio, we are connecting everyone and everything, all the time.
In this role you will join a collaborative engineering community creating cutting‑edge products for global markets. You will be paired with a mentor and have the freedom to make meaningful contributions in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Work with a team of analog/RF IC design experts on the development of cellular‑band RFICs that feature stand‑alone or integrated LNA cores, RF switches, attenuators, controllers, and additional RF and analog functional blocks.
- Interface with system engineers and module design teams to:
- Create detailed specifications.
- Define performance requirements.
- Execute design and simulation activities.
- Report design progress.
- Collect, track, and resolve performance and circuit design issues.
- BS + 12 years experience, MSEE + 8 years, or PhD EE + 5 years.
- Transistor‑level CMOS or SOI RFIC design knowledge.
- Strong understanding of device physics.
- Proficiency with advanced linear and nonlinear models or simulation techniques and ability to translate between models, simulations, implementations, and measurements.
- Optimization of RFIC performance using RF and microwave engineering knowledge.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, EMX/Momentum, HFSS, and CST.
- Strong lab skills in data collection, analysis, debug, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress, meet schedules, and collaborate in a team.
- Solid knowledge of RF/microwave fundamentals: impedance matching, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, circuit stability, and electromagnetic theory.
- Background in micro‑strip or strip‑line stack‑up, LNA, RF switch design, or passive circuit design (integrated passive devices, couplers, baluns).
- Strong simulation skills with Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, 2.5/3D EM tools (EMX/Momentum, HFSS/CST) and the ability to translate models to implementation and measured performance.
- Strong lab skills in data collection/analysis, lab debug/tuning, and product troubleshooting.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,400 – $247,800 per year. Skyworks offers health benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and incentive plans and awards based on performance.
