The Digital Data Scientist will support the Combination Product Operations organization by improving the way Client assesses the performance of its combination products and helping decision making within the organization. The role focuses on development and lifecycle management of digital modeling and simulation assets, technologies, and processes, and analyzing combination product performance. Leveraging in‑silico, first‑principles, and data‑driven modeling techniques, the analyst will evaluate opportunities to positively impact Client’s drug delivery devices and systems such as pre‑filled syringes and auto‑injectors.
Ideal candidates possess a strong engineering background – preferably Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering – and have proven experience in FEM simulation, physics‑based modeling, and data analysis for engineering applications within a GMP‑regulated environment. A strong foundation in mechanical systems and a passion for tackling challenges and generating insights through modeling and simulation are essential.
Skills- Expertise in FEM using commercial software such as ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, ANSYS, COMSOL
- Experience with model simulation and analysis techniques for structural, fluidic, and heat‑transfer problems
- Experience with mathematical/first‑principles modeling, numerical techniques, and uncertainty quantification such as Monte‑Carlo simulations
- Programming proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++
- Experience using Git‑based version control and CI/CD practices to manage, validate, and document modeling assets
- Knowledge of statistical analyses for engineering problems using JMP and/or Minitab for Six‑sigma processes
- Critical and analytical thinking to explore new modeling opportunities and translate simulation results into system/component specifications, recommendations, and controls for combination products
- Strong communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work in highly collaborative, cross‑functional environments
- Ph.D. in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (simulation, modeling, and data analysis)
- or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering plus 2 years of simulation, modeling, and data analysis experience (Civil Engineering acceptable)
- or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering plus 5 years of simulation, modeling, and data analysis experience
