POSITIONS TO BE FILLED FROM THE ELIGIBILITY LIST TO BE ESTABLISHED FROM THIS RECRUITMENT:
(1)
Permanent positions - 3, 5.5 or 6 hours (majority of positions are 3.0 hr/day);
(2)
Substitute/On-Call 3 hr/day positions
Work Year Length:
School-Term (206 days/year - late August to mid June)

EXAMINATION PROCESSA total score will determine ranking; applicants must pass the oral exam to be eligible for placement on the list. The top 3 scores will be eligible for interviews for each vacancy during the list's validity.
BASIC FUNCTIONUnder supervision, works with students with various disabilities, implementing behavior intervention strategies and plans of technical complexity.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSPositions in this class emphasize knowledge of methodologies such as ABA, PRT, PECS, TEACCH, and de-escalation strategies, often requiring constant attention and non-violent intervention to ensure safety.
REPRRESENTATIVE DUTIES- Work with students in instructional and adaptive skills areas based on individual needs.
- Utilize ABA methodologies and prepare instructional materials.
- Monitor and manage student behavior, applying behavior modification techniques.
- Assist with personal care and hygiene routines.
- Maintain detailed records and reports, ensuring confidentiality.
- Observe, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Supervise students during community activities and transportation.
- Follow health and safety procedures, administer First Aid and CPR.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and participate in assessments and activities as required.
Education:
High school graduation or equivalent; additional college coursework is desirable.
Experience:
At least two years working with children with developmental or emotional disorders, providing behavioral interventions.
- Participation in Registered Behavior Technician certification is preferred.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificates required within probationary period.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License.
Knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention, behavior strategies, ABA techniques, classroom procedures, and child development principles.
Ability to learn and implement behavior modification techniques, communicate effectively, prepare reports, exercise judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to adapt quickly to new students and changes in IEPs, establish effective relationships, recognize safety hazards, and understand applicable laws and procedures.
