Purpose

The Design Consultant at Floor & Decor is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conduct design appointments with customers to determine design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products of various colors, textures, patterns, and designs. The Design Consultant will also partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand.

$19.39 - $23.80

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • 1+ years of retail/customer service experience
  • High school diploma and/or GED
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Internal candidates: a minimum of 6 months with Floor & Decor
Essential Functions
  • Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
  • Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store
  • Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
  • Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
  • Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent and concise communication via company communication tools and email
  • Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
  • Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
  • Use design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and My Project
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
  • Limited travel may be required by car
  • Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise level
Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium work – able to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Often required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Hours

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Pickup Hours

Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
