This role is pivotal in shaping accurate, competitive bids that help drive our success in industrial construction.
As our Steel Fabricator Estimator, you’ll leverage your expertise to analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals, ensuring every estimate reflects precision and value. You’ll collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver solutions that meet complex industrial needs.

- Serve as the initial point of contact with clients to assess scope and resource requirements.
- Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and potentially erect projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to define scope and resources.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and pre-qualification, as needed.
- Provide technical guidance on fabrication methods, equipment, and best practices.
- Develop proposal packages and presentations that position ICM as the best choice.
- Review client project schedules for accuracy or create schedules to illustrate our plan and sequence.
- Assist in procurement of long‑lead items and develop project schedules.
- Ensure accurate job cost transfers and support project handoff to project managers, including subs/suppliers, schedules, phase codes, and constructability.
- Continuously improve estimating processes by analyzing unsuccessful bids and participating in project close‑out reviews to capture lessons learned.
- Experience: 3–5 years in a fabrication shop or erection company as an estimator or project manager.
- Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, E‑Takeoff, Tekla, Primavera P6, Win Est, Bluebeam.
- Attributes: Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
