Classified Substitute

Candidates who can contribute to our goal are encouraged to apply and to identify their strengths in this area.

Works in various classified positions on a temporary, as-needed basis. There is no set number of hours or days guaranteed as a substitute. Substitutes will only be called to work while Adams 12 Five Star Schools is in session.

2023 Adams 12 Classified Substitutes Pay Rates

• Para educator, Special Programs (Special Needs) — $18.73 per hour
• Para educator, Special Education Instruction — $17.99 per hour
• Para educator, Classroom Assistant — $16.50 per hour
• Student Monitor (Lunchroom/Recess) — $16.50 per hour
• Campus Security/Operations — $19.11 per hour
• Office Work (depends upon the assignment) — rate varies

• Primarily substitute requests are for paraprofessionals in Special Education and Special Programs.
• We also substitute for Campus Security, Student Monitor, Media Clerk, Paraprofessionals for Classrooms and Preschool. Pay varies by position.

• This position does not require a Colorado Department of Education teaching or substitute license.
• Substitutes cannot be hired as both a Certified Substitute Teacher AND Classified Substitute Paraprofessional.
