Compensation: Approximately $63.05 - $75.29 per hour. All pay rates are based on experience and internal equity.

Overview of Role

Provide high-quality dental care that is culturally appropriate and prevention-focused. Serve as a leader on the dental team, contributing to the smooth operation of the team, site, and organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide care in general dental practice including diagnosis, preventative dentistry, operative dentistry, pedodontics, periodontics, removable prosthodontics, endodontics, fixed prosthodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics.
  • Expand and maintain rapport with the dental community in the service area and broaden referral networks.
  • Communicate appropriately with health & human services agencies, local governments, and community organizations as needed.
  • Engage with the dental provider team to determine clinical guidelines and follow Clinica Standards of Care.
  • Collaborate as an equal member of the team to provide high-quality care across all levels.
  • Support and teach team members; participate in student education where applicable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of general dental practice principles and evidence-based treatment methodologies and risk-based care.
  • Ensure optimal access to care through clinical productivity and addressing patient barriers.
  • Engage with non-dental teams to integrate Clinica systems, especially between medical and dental clinical teams.
  • Provide required documentation for credentialing and privileging (initial and biannual).
  • Be respectful and responsive to staff and patients and promote teamwork and feedback.
  • Manage ongoing daily clinical work timeliness and thoroughness.
  • Exhibit leadership in improving patient and staff experience; communicate effectively, including motivational interviewing.
  • Collaborate with teammates clinically and administratively, following Clinica procedures.
  • Use electronic dental and health records (EDR/EHR), registries, and templates effectively.

Dentistry on the Pods

  • Primarily initiate and maintain the dental prevention and education program in an integrated medical setting, coordinating with medical and dental teams.
  • Assess risk, apply fluoride treatments, and provide oral health education to parents and children in medical settings; assist in establishing a dental home.
  • Maximize community linkages and advocate for patients.
  • Manage patient care and develop clinical guidelines within the scope of dental hygiene practice.
Position Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Graduation from an approved School of Dentistry and a current license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral disease.
  • Working knowledge of dentistry principles, standard practices, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of preventative dentistry, risk-based care, and educational/communication methodologies.
  • Skill in operative techniques and ability to establish effective relationships with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work in a team-based care environment.
  • Understanding and application of quality improvement practices is preferred.
  • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is essential.
