Assistant Plant Manager Food Manufacturing | Tai Seng

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities, including preparation, cooking, chilling, assembly, and packaging.
• Manage production schedules, optimise manpower allocation, and ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Monitor critical control points such as cooking temperatures, chilling performance, and cold chain integrity.
• Enforce GMP, HACCP, allergen controls, sanitation standards, and quality procedures.
• Document deviations, implement corrective actions, and support traceability and mock recall exercises.
• Lead and mentor Production Supervisors, Line Leads, and operational staff; conduct daily meetings and deliver training.
• Track operational metrics such as OEE, yield, waste levels, and line speeds.
• Lead problem‑solving activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and visual management.
• Enforce workplace safety policies, PPE compliance, and conduct safety observations and incident investigations.
• Oversee raw material staging, WIP management, finished goods rotation (FEFO), labelling accuracy, and cycle counts.

• Minimum 3 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of food microbiology, shelf‑life validation, and cold chain management is an added advantage.
• Experience with cook‑chill systems, blast chillers, thermal processing, or MAP technology is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, data analysis, and project management capabilities.
