Operational Risk Specialist Commodities Trading MNC

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and execution of operational risk initiatives, including coordination, documentation, and process mapping.
• Assist in executing operational risk assessments to strengthen governance across the organization.
• Develop and implement operational risk frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with commodities trading industry standards.
• Translate business processes into clear documentation such as SOPs, control matrices, and risk registers.
• Conduct process walkthroughs and control evaluations across trade desks and support functions under manager supervision.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and highlight emerging risks to senior management.
• Support identification, evaluation, and control of operational risks related to trading, logistics, and settlements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review process risks for new business or operational changes, and follow up on incident records.
• Lead the development and mapping of end-to-end business workflows, ensuring clarity of roles, controls, and escalation points.
• Ensure consistency across internal control frameworks, flowcharts, and operational manuals.
• Coordinate annual internal control review and revision schedules with relevant departments and stakeholders.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operational risk within a global commodities trading firm, preferably within minerals or bulk trading.
• Hands‑on experience in operational processes, operational excellence, or related functions in commodities trading.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments, market dynamics, and credit/operational risk exposures.
• Experience in process design, workflow documentation, and operational risk management.
• Knowledge of operational risk frameworks, internal control standards, and RCSA methodologies.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end trade life cycles and operational workflows within international commodity trading.
• Familiarity with operational requirements related to trade contracts, post‑trade processes, AML, KYC, sanctions, and export controls.
• Strong analytical, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
