This full-time special education teaching opportunity is based in the Thomson, GA area, supporting a 5th-grade student with unique academic and behavioral needs. The position requires a dedicated, experienced educator who holds a valid Georgia teaching certification (GaPSC) and Elementary Special Education Certification. The role offers a structured environment for a high-functioning, verbal student exhibiting significant physical aggression, requiring individualized behavioral support alongside academic guidance, primarily in reading.

- Normal hours:
Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Deliver personalized instruction tailored to the academic and behavioral needs of a 5th-grade student
- Implement behavior intervention strategies to reduce aggression while promoting positive classroom engagement
- Partner with a dedicated para educator to support the student's progress and safety
- Participate in training sessions, including restraint training provided by the district
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate effectively with the educational team
- Structured, supportive work environment with resources to assist challenging behaviors

This contract position is available immediately through May 20, 2026.
