Day Kimball Health is hiring for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Home Care Speech Therapy department!

Department: Home Care / Inpatient (FLOAT)

Location: Thompson, CT & Putnam, CT

Schedule: Day shift (8:00 a.m.

As the Speech Language Pathologist, under the general direction of the Rehabilitation Supervisor in Home Care and Director for In‑patient Rehabilitation Services, you will be a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for organizing and administering prescribed speech therapy programs in an effort to reduce and/or prevent disability to help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.

  • Evaluates and treats patients as prescribed by referring physician.
  • Records treatment, response, progress and discharge information in patient’s chart.
  • Educates patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment, home program and Rehabilitation Services.
  • Routinely confers with physician and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing, regarding progress, regression or change of plan.

Orients, instructs, and directs other Health Care Team members as needed.

Speech Language Pathologist

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an accredited program in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech‑Language Pathology required.
  • Connecticut license or Connecticut license eligible required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred.
Speech Language Pathologist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or person with disabilities.
  • Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
  • Works fast and accurately in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Identify and act on priorities for smooth departmental operation.
  • Maintain discretion in handling confidential nature of information that is available.
  • Keep up-to-date on trends and developments in the field of physical medicine and health services.
  • Ability to work in team situations.
