What matters most as community centre guards is the safety, dignity, and overall experience of everyone who enters the facility.

The role requires maintaining a secure, welcoming, and inclusive environment through a strong customer service approach.

Guards are expected to communicate clearly, enforce policies respectfully, and respond calmly to situations.

Professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service are essential to building trust within the community.

• Hourly wage of 19.03 per hour

• Provide uniformed, physical security services to protect the client, visitors, and property.

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents and promote a safe environment.

• Greet, assist, and liaise with visitors, customers, and the general public in a professional manner.

• Deliver excellent customer service by answering questions and providing accurate information.

• Perform access control duties and monitor individuals entering and exiting the building.

• Conduct regular interior patrols and monitor building activity for safety concerns.

• Respond to incidents in the building or parking lot as required.

• Manage crowds and ensure public safety during peak periods or events.

• Respond effectively to emergencies, including medical situations, fires, and security breaches.

• Complete daily security functions including visual deterrence, report writing, note taking, and use of access control technology while supporting a positive, team-oriented work environment.

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in the security industry (asset)
• Must have a recent clear criminal record check and Child Abuse check
• Customer service oriented
• Must be able to work days
• Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a stressful environment
