About this role
Operations Technician at Potters Industries in Thomasville, NC, working the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Monday–Friday). The role requires a safety‑first mindset and involves operating various production equipment and ensuring process quality.
Base PayStarting wage: $21.20 per hour + $1.00 night shift differential. Base pay range: $20.21/hr – $20.21/hr.

• Operates process in a safe and reliable manner.
• Complies with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Interprets process data and adjusts process to maintain quality output.
• Communicates process information and issues with other operators, maintenance & management.
• Maintains production and other company requirements.
• Performs housekeeping duties.
• Performs and assists with preventive maintenance.
• Builds replacement screens and replaces sifter screens according to maintenance schedules.
• Sets up, prepares, and monitors machines/equipment for operation per production requirements.
• Operates grinding department and furnaces to meet goals in safety, environment, quality, production and cost control.
• Takes tank readings and ensures plant operations keep tanks balanced without shutting down the process.
• Engages in hazard updates work procedures as needed.
• Participates in plant‑wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives and HSE activities such as toolbox meetings, audits, accident investigations, hazard IDs.
• Ensures compliance with environmental permits and monitoring of bag house emissions.
• Performs special projects or other duties as directed.
Education & Experience- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Post‑High School, Technical School or College a plus.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 1 year of operational experience with production machinery/equipment.
- Minimum 1 year forklift operations required; forklift certification preferred.
- Competent use of computers for email and data entry.
- Strong work ethic.
- Team player.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
