Position SummaryThe Director of Children’s Ministries is responsible for nurturing the spiritual growth of children at Macedonia United Methodist Church by creating engaging, faith‑centered programming that encourages participation, builds relationships, and helps children grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. This role provides leadership, structure, and consistency for all children’s ministry programs while partnering closely with families, volunteers, and church leadership.
Primary ObjectiveTo increase participation in Macedonia’s children’s programs while deepening children’s understanding of the Bible, Christian faith, and what it means to live as followers of Jesus.
Qualifications- Background and/or experience in Christian education or ministry with children
- Understanding of childhood development
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers
- Passion for building relationships with children and families
- Commitment to the mission and values of the church
- Wonder Wednesday, Children’s Church
- Seasonal & Special Programming:
Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, weekly Summer Programming - Coordinate Annual Youth and Children’s Sunday, periodic Children’s stories during worship
- Preschool & Family Engagement:
Collaborate with Preschool director for monthly chapel time, coordinate Kid Co - Weekly Communication, Quarterly Calendar of activities
- Provide Safe Sanctuary training
- Salaried position, compensation commensurate with experience and education
- Two (2) weeks of paid vacation annually
