Senior Manager , Quality - Supply Chain

Position Summary

Oversees multiple distribution centers within a region to ensure quality freshness and food safety of grocery products by implementing and monitoring quality control policies and procedures teaching quality inspection practices to provide consistency of execution calibrating inspection methodology with authorities and communicating acceptance and rejection performance to suppliers. Ensures compliance with quality specifications for example cutting styling packaging and labeling by inspecting execution of Walmart quality standards reviewing supplier performance on quality standards in real time on the production line stopping a production line if needed to resolve quality issues inspecting key areas of the facility guiding the utilization and communication of inspection data and confirming that suppliers take corrective actions as needed.

Manages cold chain compliance of storage areas and shipping process to maintain quality throughout the supply chain by reviewing prevention activities and issue resolution that connect with supplier quality functions across facility campus working with suppliers and external manufacturers to ensure compliance analyzing data to determine process gaps developing process improvements and collaborating with suppliers and external manufacturers to implement these improvements tracking and monitoring the impact of process changes proactively anticipating risk and addressing preventative action across facility campus and completing facility audits and proactively addressing risk areas.

Leads meat quality assurance program development and optimization by researching and benchmarking industry standards processes and programs developing and implementing the meat quality assurance processes and programs developing and utilizing reports to monitor and maintain accurate recording of meat inspection data analyzing data to determine trends concerns and process gaps overseeing collaboration with supplier partner to implement solutions tracking and monitoring the impact of solutions and providing feedback and recommendations to senior leadership and cross functional team within Walmart and the supplier organization.

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs developing and communicating business plans and priorities removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance providing resources identifying performance standards measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly developing contingency plans and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training mentoring assigning duties building a teambased work environment establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations providing recognition and rewards coaching for success and improvement and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.

Promotes and supports company policies procedures mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application ensuring compliance with them and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans programs and initiatives consulting with business partners managers coworkers or other key stakeholders soliciting evaluating and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and costeffectiveness and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
