EEG Technician- EEG
Description
Schedule patients for procedures. Gather patient's medical history, explain tests, and prepare the patient for the procedure. Perform routine and sleep-deprived EEGs. Operate mobile EEG unit. Monitor/reassure the patient during testing and note findings. Report findings to the patient's doctor for further analysis. Maintain reports and distribute to the appropriate referring physician. Ensure documentation is accurate and timely. Will cross-train in the department as needed.
Able to perform quality tracings using accepted ASET guidelines. Able to function proficiently, tidily, and promptly without direct supervision. Able to communicate effectively with medical staff. Able to perform studies at bedside as required.
High school graduate or GED required. Further education in neurology related courses preferred. Certification required – or must be actively pursuing.
Previous Experience PreferredCurrent BLS certification required.
