Emergency Dept Technician

Responsibilities

• Stock blanket warmers and patient treatment rooms with appropriate linens.
• Maintain IV pumps.
• Return patient trays to Nutrition Services.
• Check and log refrigerator temperatures.
• Complete patient assessments by collecting data to include but not limited to: weight, temperature, pain, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide assistance to the nurse/physician during procedures.
• Document actions/observations on ED chart.

• Maintain IV pumps.

• Complete patient assessments by collecting data to include but not limited to: weight, temperature, pain, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide assistance to the nurse/physician during procedures.

• Must have high school diploma or GED. Requires certification in Basic Life Support.
• Medical experience preferred. Knowledge and experience of taking vital signs preferred. Must be familiar with all facets of basic patient care functions.
