- Client Consultation: Meet with loan applicants to understand their financial needs and explain a variety of loan options and terms, including fees, interest rates, and repayment schedules.
- Loan Origination & Processing: Guide clients through the entire application process, helping them gather and verify all required documentation to compile complete and accurate loan packages.
- Credit Analysis & Underwriting: Evaluate loan applications by analyzing applicants' financial status, credit history, and collateral to assess creditworthiness and risk.
- Business Development: Actively identify and analyze potential loan markets, engaging in marketing efforts and networking with local realtors, builders, and community groups to generate new business prospects.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all loan applications and processes comply with federal and state regulations, as well as internal bank policies and procedures.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary contact for all loan inquiries, assuming ownership of customer problems to achieve effective resolutions and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required. Relevant experience in the banking or finance industry may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a financial role, preferably within a community banking setting.
- Licensing: Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration and any state-specific licensing.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn position-related loan processing software.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the initiative to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
