Overview
Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire
Salary: £15ph
Cook / Chef at Carlton Lodge Activity Centre
Contract: Permanent, 30hrs
About usCarlton Lodge is an Activity Centre based in Carlton Miniott, we provide activities for groups of all ages and abilities, and we also offer a residential experience for groups doing onsite, offsite activities or for groups who just want to use our facilities.
Hours of work and wage- The hours of work would be between 7am-7pm, will involve some weekend work and holiday cover
- This position will mainly cover evening meal shifts with some breakfast and other shifts
- You will have cooking and basic baking skills, the ability to learn quickly and have a practical approach to work.
- Ability to work as part of a team, individually and a mature outlook.
- Previous experience necessary.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and the new allergen legislation brought out in December 2014.
- You will be passionate about food and understand the importance of good quality home cooked food for our customers.
- Provision of a professional catering service.
- Provide the highest standard of cleanliness within the Centre.
- To assist in the provision of a professional housekeeping service.
- Food preparation and cooking.
- Monitoring and ordering stock and keeping track of supplies.
- Opening and closing kitchen.
- Keeping food prep areas clean and hygienic.
- To assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and working to ensure that the levels of service are provided to residential and day groups to the agreed standards, throughout their stay.
- To assist the Facilities supervisor and Manager when and where necessary
- To clean and maintain the fixtures, fittings and furnishings and report any defects arising.
- To ensure all areas are adequately stocked with supplies.
- To assist the facilities manager in the maintenance of the buildings (e.g., deep cleaning and painting/decorating during quiet periods)
