We are looking for a Senior Nurse to play an essential role in delivering outstanding end-of-life care while supporting and developing our incredible team. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we welcome our first in-patients at our brand-new Hospice at the Lambert in Thirsk.

Our family of services - Herriot Hospice Homecare, Just B and Saint Michaels Hospice - provide vital support to people when they need it most. Our vision is of a community where everyone gets the care they need, want and deserve, and you can help make that a reality.

We are an independent charity powered by local communities. Every day, we help to improve quality of life for people living with terminal illness, bereavement and mental health concerns, because our belief is that no one should suffer. Our incredible teams work together to make this happen.

As a Senior Nurse on our inpatient unit at Herriot Hospice, you’ll play a key role, helping to shape high-quality, patient-centred hospice care. Alongside delivering expert clinical care, you’ll provide value-led leadership, supporting and developing others, promoting best practice, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our services.

In this role, you’ll:

Deliver expert palliative and end-of-life care with empathy and professionalism.

Take clinical leadership on shift, supporting and guiding the wider nursing and care team.

Act as a mentor and role model, promoting championing continuous learning and a positive team culture.

Play an active role in service improvement, clinical audits, and governance.

This Senior Nurse role is based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire and is commutable from areas including Ripon, Darlington, Durham, York and Teesside.

You will need to be an experienced and compassionate Senior Nurse with strong clinical judgement and the confidence to lead and support others.
