The Sterilization Operative will be responsible for carrying out sterilization processes in line with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves operating sterilization equipment, monitoring cycles, handling sterile and non-sterile materials, completing accurate documentation, and maintaining a clean and controlled working environment. Strict adherence to GMP, health & safety procedures, and effective teamwork are essential to meeting production and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities Sterilization Operations
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and associated systems to ensure effective and compliant sterilization processes
- Set up sterilization cycles according to validated procedures and production requirements
- Conduct routine in-process checks to confirm cycle parameters, load integrity, and documentation accuracy
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or safety concerns to the supervisor
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised sterilization area in line with GMP and health & safety standards
- Perform basic equipment cleaning, maintenance, and changeover tasks as required
- Follow all company safety, quality, and contamination control procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and cross-functional teams
- Communicate process performance, issues, deviations, or downtime to supervisors
- Support effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations
- Previous manufacturing or production experience (sterilization or cleanroom experience desirable)
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely and in accordance with procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends
- Week 1: 60 hours
- Week 2: 24 hours
- Continental shift pattern with 12-hour day and night shifts
- £15.92 per hour (including shift allowance) during training
- £16.58 per hour after training
