Sterling Infrastructure is seeking a hands‑on Web Applications Developer to support and enhance web‑based solutions used across our business units.
This is a 1099 contract position based on‑site in The Woodlands, TX and is ideal for an experienced developer who prefers contract work and thrives in a collaborative, in‑office environment.
This role focuses heavily on Word Press development, while also leveraging modern frameworks such as React, Angular, and .NET within an Azure cloud environment. You’ll also use AI‑powered development tools (such as Cursor and Claude) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and streamline workflows.
Position Description What You’ll Do
Develop, maintain, and customize Word Press websites, themes, and pluginsBuild secure, scalable, and responsive web applications using React, Angular, and .NETCollaborate with internal teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high‑quality applicationsIntegrate applications with APIs, databases, and third‑party servicesEnsure security best practices and company standards in an Azure‑hosted environmentLeverage AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, or similar) for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and documentationMonitor and optimize application performance; troubleshoot issues and deploy updatesParticipate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processesMaintain technical documentation, workflows, and maintenance proceduresProvide timely, professional support to administrators, end users, and stakeholdersPerform related duties as assignedPosition Requirements Experience & Technical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience2+ years developing and maintaining Word Press sites, including custom themes and plugins2+ years experience with React, Angular, or similar front‑end frameworks2+ years experience with .NET web application developmentExperience working within Azure (App Services, Key Vault, Storage, CI/CD pipelines)Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principlesExperience integrating RESTful APIs and databases (SQL Server or similar)Familiarity with Dev Ops practices, containerization (Docker), and version control (Git)Experience using AI‑assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, or similar)Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholdersContract Details
