Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. The position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and operational success. Awards are discretionary and reviewed annually. LTIP awards are subject to continued employment until the award payment date.

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for oncology patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across the patient population, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and supports the US Oncology compliance program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history, and provide teaching and psychosocial support.
  • Facilitate clinical operations, including medication refill requests, scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patients/families and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate related services.
  • Assist patients in locating community resources.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

Education/Training Level I
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Entry level – 0‑3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level II
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level Senior
  • Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
  • Oncology certification is preferred.
Working Conditions

The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extensive periods; occasional lifting/carrying of items up to 40 lbs; corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
