Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic and Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at The Woodlands, Texas location. This position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care, adheres to national and company standards, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. The RN supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Oncology Clinic RN:
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
    • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
    • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitates clinical operations and patient care
    • Manage patient medication refill requests and record information in the chart.
    • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
    • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the chart.
    • Facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team, coordinating services.
    • Assist patients in locating community resources.
  • Inter‑professional collaboration
    • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
  • Infusion Clinic RN:
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
    • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
    • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time, and technique.
    • Ensure pre‑authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
