An established and growing power company is seeking a Corporate Counsel (VP, Legal) to join its team in The Woodlands, Texas. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with senior leadership on strategic transactions
, project development
, and real estate matters tied to some of the most dynamic energy projects in the U.S.
- Lead legal efforts on M&A and project finance transactions, partnering with external counsel and cross-functional teams.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts and development agreements.
- Support real estate transactions for power generation and renewable energy projects (leases, easements, purchase & sale agreements, etc.).
- Advise on corporate governance
, compliance
, and regulatory issues within the power and energy landscape. - Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, helping shape strategy and mitigate risk.
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in at least one state bar.
- 5+ years of legal experience in project finance, energy M&A, real estate, or project development — ideally with at least 2 years in-house
. - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- A pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in the renewable energy industry or gas-fired generation is a plus.
