Senior SAP ISU Billing Solution Architect

Duration: Fulltime/Long-term contract

Location: The Woodlands, TX or New Orleans, LA.

Com Tec is seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect specializing in SAP IS-U CCS (Customer Care & Services) with a focus on Billing & Rates, AMI, and integration with MDMS
. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the technical vision of SAP projects, ensuring alignment with the business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP IS-U Billing & Rates.
• Lead the architecture and design of solutions for Billing, Rates, Bill Print, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Integration and Other SAP IS-U areas related to customer services and metering.
• Support and evolve the Lifecycle Roadmap for SAP IS-U standard applications.
• Perform technical analysis, design, and estimation for incidents, service requests, and enhancements.
• Provide hands‑on ABAP development for minor enhancements and code fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective SAP solutions.
• Provide guidance and ensure alignment with integration strategies across SAP and non‑SAP systems.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices.
• Guide and oversee the development team throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment.
• Prepare technical design documents for complex projects involving custom integrations, and data migration.
• Define Architecture Principles, Patterns, Blueprints, Guidelines, and Standard Methodologies.
• Identify, formulate, and evaluate risks associated with Application Architecture design options.
• Lead or support testing and deployment efforts for changes and enhancements.
• Application Road mapping, Architecture modeling and communication using different tools like PowerPoint, Visio, and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Work Cross‑Functionally with Architects, Product Managers, Design Engineers, Developers and Business Analysts.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of IT experience with 5+ years strong experience in SAP IS-U Billing and Rates.
• 5+ years of SAP Solution Architect experience
• Proven experience in solution design and architecture within the SAP utilities domain.
• Must have solutioning experience with IS‑U functional modules
  :
  Device Management, EDM, Billing, Invoicing, FICA.
• Deep knowledge of billing and invoicing processes:
  Meter‑to‑Cash, Cycle Billing, Joint and Collective Invoicing, and Budget Billing.
• Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), specifically in integrating SAP CCS with MDMS (Meter Data Management System) to receive and process meter reads.
• Familiarity with smart meter data processing and market messaging

• Proficiency in ABAP programming is required, with the ability to develop, debug, and optimize custom code within the SAP IS‑U environment
• Familiarity with SOX controls, secure coding practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in leading large‑scale SAP implementation or migration projects.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards within the utilities domain.
• Proficient with Architecture modelling and communication using different tools like PowerPoint, Visio, and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with multiple project management methodologies including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in establishing and managing customer relationships and effectively managing expectations
• SAP certification(s) in related modules or ABAP certifications is a plus.
