Job Description & How to Apply Below

At MBA Energy & Industrial, we operate with a fully integrated design-build model. Architecture and construction work as one team, from concept through completion.

The Design Project Manager is responsible for managing the design phase of construction projects. This role coordinates architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver complete, coordinated, and buildable construction documents before construction begins.

This is a management and coordination role—not a design-only position.

  • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, surveyors, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain design schedules and track deliverables
  • Lead design coordination meetings and manage action items to closure
  • Ensure design intent is translated into clear, accurate, and buildable construction documents
  • Identify design conflicts and resolve them prior to construction
  • Manage design changes and evaluate cost and schedule impacts
  • Support construction administration and collaborate closely with field teams
  • Travel to project sites across the U.S. as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a professional design environment under a licensed architect
  • Full project delivery experience from schematic design through construction
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and coordination workflows
  • Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within a design-build or integrated construction environment
  • Design coordination experience for complex or industrial facilities

    Mission-critical facility experience
What Success Looks Like
  • Design packages issued on time and fully coordinated
  • Reduced design-related issues during construction
  • Clear alignment between design, estimating, and field execution
  • Buildable documents that construction teams trust
  • Competitive salary starting at $100,000+ (based on experience)
  • Quarterly bonuses and referral bonus program
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Team-building events and strong company culture

We work hard, solve complex problems, and take ownership of our work. Our teams collaborate closely, communicate directly, and focus on delivering quality results.

If you are experienced in managing design for construction projects and want to see your work built—not handed off—this role offers long-term growth and meaningful responsibility.
