Grant Accountant

Overview

Acara Solutions is seeking two full-time temporary Grant Accounts to support our client in accounting operations related to grant funding in Houston, Teaxas.

Duration: 6-month contract

Pay: $/HR

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Research, analyze, and correct accounting errors in a timely manner
• Support grant-related financial reporting and tracking
• Utilize Excel for data analysis, including pivot tables and lookup functions
• Work within financial systems, including People Soft
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding accounting issues
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with journal entries and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions
• Experience with financial software;
  People Soft experience preferred
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to research and resolve accounting discrepancies
