About the RoleAs Staff Accountant at Othram, you will support day-to-day accounting operations for our company, which is headquartered in The Woodlands, TX. This role will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for core accounting functions as well as ad‑hoc projects in support of the company’s growth. The ideal candidate is respectful and reliable, has strong attention to detail, maintains ownership over their work, and takes initiative to take on new responsibilities as business needs evolve.
This role would be an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the medical/diagnostic laboratory space.
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close support
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reporting processes
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Support preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reports
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requests as needed
- Support process improvements and documentation as the finance function scales
- Take on additional accounting and finance‑related tasks as they arise
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1 to 2 years of experience or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2 to 3 years of experience
- Command of basic accounting principles
